Spend the day hiking trails, kayaking, canoeing, fishing or take in an event or performance at the waterfront amphitheatre. In winter explore a frozen lake with a fishing rod, skates, or snowshoes. Hikers will also enjoy several trails including the Vicki Barron Lakeside Trail, the park's signature eight-kilometre trail, which leads you around the perimeter of the lake.

The Alder Street Recreation Centre is a hub for sport and community events. It features two indoor ice/floor pads for skating, hockey, and lacrosse; two pools with a splash pad and waterslide; fitness rooms, pickleball, basketball, and a walking/running track.
